I'm is a board-certified ophthalmologist from Montreal, Canada. I'm currently a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellow at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. In 2024, I completed a fellowship in Artificial Medical Intelligence at the Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology in London, United Kingdom, working with Prof. Pearse Keane.
My long-term plan is to become a vitreoretinal surgeon and to establish an emerging technologies lab in Montreal at the CHUM - Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal. I use the term 'emerging technologies' to avoid limiting the scope of our work. I’m expecting that given the current pace of innovation in AI, computing, and hardware, there will be an emergence of new areas and applications, which we could use for the benefit of our patients.
For now, I primarily work in applying machine learning to vitreoretinal diseases, and I’m also interested in integrating virtual reality to surgical education.
